Banner 8 Upgrade
Activities are in progress to upgrade all campus Banner modules to the most current release of the software (version 8). In order to maintain continued vendor support, ensure compliance for Financial Aid, take advantage of product enhancements and remain current, we must upgrade to the latest release of the software.
The Banner (AppLEAP) project team members have been working closely with Information Technology Services (ITS) staff to develop and test the appropriate versions of each module of Banner 8. The testing process includes a preliminary conversion of all data and incorporating the various Appalachian enhancements to the new modules.
The conversion plan requires that Banner access to all forms and processes be terminated on Tuesday, November 24th at the end of daily processing. All systems will be available on Monday, November 30th. The Upgrade will affect AppalNET Self Service tab, Banner Self Service, Internet-Native Banner and any campus system that uses Banner Data.
E-mail for faculty, staff and students will be available during the upgrade period.
The upgrade will have limited impact on campus users. The most visible changes will be in the increased size of specific data fields and additional forms for future enhancements. Below are some of the features in Banner Student, version 8.
